Being a minority in the field of counseling can sometimes feel isolating……. especially when there is a lack of understanding from your colleagues about your, or your clients’ experiences.

Welcome to Shades of Serenity (S.O.S.)

BIPOC Consultation & Peer Supervision Group

A safe space where Virginia based therapists of color can come together, share their experiences, challenges, and successes

This peer consultation group aims to provide a supportive space where therapists of color based in Virginia can come together to discuss their experiences, share insights, and seek guidance from peers who understand the nuances of being a person of color in the counseling profession.

This is your opportunity for clinical consultation, exploring/navigating the complexities of working with diverse clients, and address your own personal and professional growth.

Shades of Serenity (S.O.S.) wants to explore the different perspectives, provide insights, and help support therapists in addressing the specific issues that may arise when working with clients who share their racial or ethnic background.

Shades of Serenity (S.O.S.) wants to foster a sense of community among therapists of color where they can openly discuss workplace stressors related to discrimination, microaggressions, and offer strategies for self-care and maintaining their own mental health.

We will cover the following topics, in addition to providing case consultation:
